Tea Benefits: Cancer and Blood Pressure

A lot of studies recently have indicated the anti-cancer properties of polyphenols. Some studies convincingly suggested that tea's polyphenols may reduce risk of gastric, esophageal and skin cancers if consumed regularly.

The recommended quantity is 4 to 6 cups daily.

Polyphenols also help prevent blood clotting and lower cholesterol levels.

It was proven that only 2 cups of tea may lower the risk of ovarian cancer by 46 percent in women.

Green tea is considered to have better therapeutical value in many cases.

Caffeine content in tea

According to the American Dietetic Association, a cup of tea contains an average of 40mg of caffeine, compared to 85mg as found in a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Health benefits associated with drinking green tea include delaying the aging of cells, whitening and moisturising skin, improving immunity, better heart health and a lowering risk of cancer, nourishing stomach and liver, clearing away blood stasis and heat, diminishing inflammation, relieving cough, reducing the symptoms of asthma, washing out toxins and boosting energy levels.
